Moving and Doing

In the latter half of the first year, babies realize that they have some control over their world and that they can manipulate by choice. This skill opens up a new phase of development and interaction.

Baby's Developing Skills

Look:

Full color vision is developed and distance vision continues to mature. Baby's ability to track moving objects improves.

Listen:

Language development is strengthened as baby imitates sounds and begins to say simple words.

Touch:

Hand-eye coordination is improving! Baby is able to pick up small objects between thumb and forefinger, can carry two objects at once, and loves to build and take apart toys.

Move:

Baby is active! She's able to sit without assistance and crawls around on hands and knees.
